Running On Empty

I deliver pizza for Pizza Hut, and always want to get to the cheapest gas station. I also found out a long time ago, that empty doesn't mean empty. I thought I had sixty (60) miles to go after empty, but I ran out at just a mere 55 miles. Of course I had to buy the most expensive gas to get me going, and then bought the rest of the gas at the cheaper station.
Now, with my new car, I don't push it past thirty (30) or forty (40) miles.
I have managed to run out of gas with every car that I have owned, except for a Ford Escort, and my new car.
