Nowhere to fill up

I-84 is a long, beautiful stretch of Interstate parallel to the Columbia River running east from Portland past Mount Hood and into the wastes of north-central Oregon.

But there aren't a lot of places to fill up.

About 20 miles east of Troutdale, the light came on. I nursed the Ford Escape at sixty, just until the first Troutdale exit and the Shell station there. Took on 14.65 gallons of fuel... and I think this is a 15 gallon tank.
