Inaccurate gas gauge on the mazda 3?

My gauge seems to read about 1/8 of tank high. When the tank is full is reads well above the "full" level and when low it seems to be be at about 1/8 of a tank when the reserve light comes on. According to the manual you should be able to get 20+ miles once the reserve light comes on, but I have never pushed it more than a couple miles because I kind of distrust the gas gauge.

Anyone else seen this?
